After completing the South Downs Way, some 100 miles, I decided to create a series of paintings which would embody my sense of both joy and achievement when out in the countryside and the inner peace it creates. The paintings each have a hill to be climbed; our journey through life, which maybe steep and difficult, but is beautiful. The blue sky represents optimism for what the future holds.
