Rhythms of the River Mole 1

Watercolour and acrylic inks on paper

70 x 25 cm

Mounted and in white wood frame

£275

SOLD

This painting was inspired by sounds heard during many walks along the banks of the River Mole beneath Box Hill near Dorking.

The marks were made using pebbles collected from the river which were used to mask areas of the piece as washes of paint were laid over the paper. They were then used to create some of the marks and textures that represent the sounds of rippling water, splashes and flow of the water as it runs it's course.
